The State Record Does Not Note Who You Paid
Dependable registered agent service throughout Hawaii — $99 annually. That fee covers the office address, scanning of legal correspondence, and reminders for state filings.
Interest declared at the outset. Hawaii Registered Agent.co is the $99 option in the comparison below, so this is a competitor's page and should be read as one. LegalZoom's pricing is reproduced from that company's published terms as of July 2026, unedited, because a comparison built on a misquoted figure is worth nothing.
What the Brand Actually Delivers
Recognition, and recognition has value. LegalZoom is the company most people can name in this industry, backed by a support organization, an in-house legal department and a history long enough that nobody worries about it disappearing mid-term. A buyer who wants to make one decision, make it quickly and never revisit it is buying exactly that, and the premium is the price of not having to research anyone.
For an owner running several entities across several states, consolidating everything with a single national provider is also a defensible administrative choice. We are not going to pretend those reasons are imaginary.
$249, Renewing on Its Own
Registered agent service is $249 a year. No first-year discount turned up in our review, and the plan renews automatically unless the customer intervenes before the anniversary.
The pricing is honest. The question is what the extra buys in this particular line of work.
What Hawaii's Record Contains
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereHere is the part that decides it. Your entity's entry in the public registry maintained by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) holds a registered agent name and a Hawaii street address. It does not hold a price, a brand tier or a service level. A court, a process server and a state clerk all read the same two facts regardless of which company you selected.
That is the whole of what the appointment is on the public side. The private side is operational: does someone competent receive the summons, and does it reach you fast enough to matter. Neither question is answered by the size of the invoice.
Held five years, the difference between $249 and $99 is $750 for an identical pair of lines on a state record.
The $99 Position
One product, one annual charge, no scheduled increase. Service of process arriving at our Hawaii office is scanned and emailed the same business day, because a response deadline starts at delivery. Our address occupies the public entry so yours does not. Compliance alerts run to your entity's assigned filing quarter. Business mail scanning, if you want it, is $15 an item and is stated before purchase rather than after.
We do not claim the lowest number in Hawaii. BetterLegal publishes $90 a year. What survives scrutiny is that $99 is among the lowest published flat rates in the state and that it is the same in year five as in year one.
The Hawaii Filing That Replaces LegalZoom
Hawaii does this with one form, X-7, filed with the state's business registration division for $25 plus a one-dollar archives fee, and our change of agent guide walks through the filing, the eligibility rules and the confirmation step.
What that guide cannot do is fix the ordering for you. Keep the LegalZoom appointment live until the replacement is named and the state record has been updated. An entity registered in Hawaii is expected to have an agent every day, not on average, and the auto-renew you are trying to escape is a smaller problem than an empty line on the record. Cancel afterward, once the registry reflects the change, and let the next renewal simply not happen.
If the anniversary is close, start now rather than after the charge posts. Refunds are a negotiation. Timing is not.
