Hawaii's Nine Registered Agent Options, Reviewed at the Renewal Rate
Dependable registered agent service throughout Hawaii — $99 annually. That fee covers the office address, scanning of legal correspondence, and reminders for state filings.
Start with the disclosure. Hawaii Registered Agent.co wrote this ranking and holds its first position at $99 a year. A vendor grading its own market has earned your skepticism, so apply it freely. The numbers survive the skepticism: each figure below is the rate its vendor advertised at our July 2026 verification, and the $90 that undercuts ours appears in row three, unhidden.

Why Hawaii Registered Agent.co Ranks Itself First
The case is mechanical, not rhetorical. Service of process delivered to our Hawaii street address is scanned the same business day and reaches your inbox and document portal together. The renewal never moves: $99 at enrollment, $99 at each anniversary after. Checkout sells exactly one thing, with no tier above it and nothing to decline on the way through. Your state filings carry our address while your home address stays out of the public registry. The one charge beyond the annual fee is printed before purchase: $15 per item for scanning business mail that is not legal process.
On price, precision matters. BetterLegal advertises $90, so by sticker the cheapest registered agent service in Hawaii is theirs, not ours. Ours is one of the lowest flat renewal rates in the state with same-day scanning included rather than sold separately. The claim stops there.
The Field, Two Through Nine
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order Here2. Northwest Registered Agent
The runner-up on merit. Formation customers get the first year free; after that it is $125 a year for one to four states, falling to $100 per state at five or more. Every figure is public. Support is staffed by employees rather than scripts, and the privacy record holds up under scrutiny. Second place has a single cause: $125 exceeds $99 for the same statutory function.
3. BetterLegal
$90 a year, the lowest number on the page, stated plainly. It ranks third because our verification stalled at year one: how the initial billing works could not be confirmed, and unconfirmed terms rank behind confirmed ones here. If the $90 settles it for you, fine. Examine the checkout terms before it does.
4. Rocket Lawyer
$125 a year at every membership tier, with no first-year markdown found. Stable, honestly presented pricing. The reservation is the wrapper: the appointment comes inside a legal subscription of document templates and attorney consults. Subscribers who work that platform get their money's worth. Buyers who only need the appointment do not.
5. ZenBusiness
The strongest software in the category, attached to a two-step price: $99 plus state fees to start, $199 a year at renewal. Evaluate it at $199, because that is what every kept year is billed at, and at that rate the dashboard carries the entire case.
6. Bizee (formerly Incfile)
Formation packages include agent service free for three to twelve months, package depending. Real value while you are forming. Standalone, the service is $149 a year, and billing begins the moment the free months end. Note that end date at signup; the renewal arrives without fanfare.
7. LegalZoom
$249 flat, auto-renewing, no first-year break located. The tallest fixed rate in the table, attached to the most recognized name in the field. The premium purchases recognition and nothing further; the statutory duties are identical in every other row.
8. Swyft Filings
$149 per quarter. Annualized, roughly $596, the most expensive total on the page, and no separate first-year discount surfaced. The service functions; the cadence is the issue. Four modest charges draw less scrutiny than one large one, which is presumably the point. Run the multiplication first.
9. Inc Authority
First year: $0. Renewal: not published. Our July 2026 sweep covered the homepage, the FAQ, and the premium package pages and produced no renewal figure; the number apparently surfaces at checkout or over the phone. A ranking built on price transparency has one available response to a concealed price. Ninth.
No Secretary of State in Hawaii: BREG Holds the Registry
Hawaii routes business filings through the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Business Registration Division, abbreviated BREG. There is no Secretary of State here; a guide telling you to file with one was written for a different state. BREG maintains the registry where your agent's name and street address appear publicly, and it runs the state's online filing portal, replaced with a new system in July 2026. Formation itself uses Form LLC-1, the Articles of Organization under HRS § 428-203: a $50 filing fee plus the $1 State Archives fee, $51 collected. That archives dollar attaches to BREG filings generally, which is why Hawaii totals tend to land one dollar above the stated fee.
Form X-7 Makes Leaving Cheap
Replacing an agent in Hawaii costs $26 and one form. Form X-7, the Statement of Change of Registered Agent by Entity, goes to BREG under HRS § 425R-7: $25 stated fee, plus the $1 archives charge, $26 collected. Eligibility for the incoming agent follows HRS § 425R-4. A street address in Hawaii is mandatory and a PO box disqualifies. The agent must be a Hawaii resident individual, a domestic entity, or a foreign entity authorized in the state, and no entity may appoint itself to the role. The practical consequence: a switch costs less than most of the renewal increases documented above. Any provider counting on inertia to carry you through a price jump has misread Hawaii's fee schedule.
The Quarter You Formed In Is the Deadline You Keep
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereHawaii schedules annual reports by formation quarter, not by a single statewide date. Q1 entities file by March 31, Q2 by June 30, Q3 by September 30, Q4 by December 31, year after year, with the filing window opening on the first day of the assigned quarter. Nothing is due in the formation year; the first report lands the following calendar year. The fee runs $15 on paper or $12.50 online, plus the $1 archives fee. Miss the window and the penalty reaches $100 for each thirty days of delinquency; go two years unfiled and BREG can administratively dissolve the entity (HRS § 428-211; § 428-1302). A deadline pegged to a quarter is easy to lose hold of, and losing hold of it is how solvent companies end up dissolved on paper. Our deadline alerts are set to your quarter from the day you enroll. That is the part of a $99 service worth more than the $99.
One Decision Remains
Nine eligible vendors, one appointment. LegalZoom sells the famous name at $249. BetterLegal sells the lowest sticker at $90 with first-year terms we could not verify. This site sells $99 flat, same-day scans, a Hawaii street address on your filings, and an alert calendar matched to your quarter. Pick whichever one is built around how the service actually gets used.
