Where the Bundled Agent Term Ends

The Formation Bundle Is Legitimate Value

Bizee, previously Incfile, includes registered agent service with its formation packages for a period that runs from three months to twelve depending on the package purchased. That is a real cost absorbed by the vendor during the months when a new company has the least money and the most paperwork. Founders who took the offer got something worth taking.

The standalone price, once no formation order is attached, is $149 a year.

The Expiry Date Is the Whole Issue

Two things end quietly in a Hawaii company's early life. One is the bundled agent term. The other is the honeymoon on compliance, since this state asks for no annual report in the year an entity is organized and begins asking the year after.

The bundled term is the one with a moving date. Three months and twelve months look the same at checkout, arrive from the same order, and expire two quarters apart. Nothing marks the transition except a charge, and by then the decision has been made for you at $149 rather than by you at whatever the market offers.

Our position is not that $149 is unreasonable for the work. It is that the moment the free period ends is the moment to price the service properly, and almost nobody does, because the calendar entry was never made.

Our Terms, Stated Plainly

$99 a year, renewing at $99. Documents served on us in Hawaii are scanned and delivered to your inbox the same business day. The public record carries our street address instead of your home. Filing the Handover: Form X-7 in Full

Hawaii has no Secretary of State. Entity records are held by the Business Registration Division of DCCA, known as BREG, and this is the office that processes the change.

The form. Form X-7 carries the title Statement of Change of Registered Agent by Entity, and HRS § 425R-7 supplies its caption. It identifies the company, the agent leaving the record, and the agent taking over with a Hawaii street address.

The money. $25 is the stated filing fee. Hawaii adds $1 for the State Archives on permanent records, making $26 the amount actually collected.

The route. Paper submission to the division, or the online route, which has run on a rebuilt platform since July 2026.

The qualification test. The incoming agent must be an individual resident of Hawaii, a company formed in the state, or an out-of-state company authorized to do business here, keeping an office at a Hawaii street address. Post office boxes do not qualify. Neither does the company itself; Hawaii bars an entity from serving as its own registered agent, which is a rule owners arriving from other states routinely get wrong.

The confirmation. When processing finishes, the public entry shows the new agent. From that point service of process is directed to the new address and the previous agent receives nothing further on your behalf.

Do Not Let the Term Lapse Into a Gap

A bundled period ending is not the same event as a filing being processed. If the free months run out while the X-7 is still on your desk, your entity is registered in Hawaii with an agent who has stopped acting for it, and the obligation to have one does not pause for administrative reasons. The state will keep sending process to the address on file, and whoever is standing there has no contract with you.

So run it in this order: engage the replacement, file the X-7, wait for the registry to catch up, then let the Bizee arrangement end. Two or three weeks of overlap costs nothing and removes the entire risk. The Arithmetic After That

$149 against $99 is a $50 annual difference, and $26 to move once. The break-even arrives inside the first year and everything after it is retained.
